AppDetectivePRO and DbProtect Knowledgebase Update 4.53

This month's update for our AppDetectivePRO and DbProtect Knowledgebase is now available.

Knowledgebase version 4.53 includes new checks for Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle Database, as well as, updated checks for IBM DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows (LUW) and three new policies for DISA STIG.

Microsoft SQL Server

  • Microsoft SQL Server Remote Code Execution Vulnerabilities (MS15-058)
    • Verifies that the server is not vulnerable to Microsoft SQL Server Remote Code Execution Vulnerabilities reported in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS15-058.
    • Risk: High
    • Relevant CVEs: CVE-2015-1761, CVE-2015-1762, CVE-2015-1763

MySQL

  • DBMS dedicated software directory and partition
    • Checks that DBMS data and software files are stored in dedicated directories or disk partitions separate from operating system files.
    • Risk: Informational
    • Relevant CVEs: N/A
  • Host is a Domain Controller
    • Verifies that the host on which MySQL server is installed is not a Domain Controller.
    • Risk: Medium
    • Relevant CVEs: N/A
  • Logs not on dedicated partition
    • Checks that binary log files are not stored on the system partition or on the data file system.
    • Risk: Informational

    • Reports the value of the HTTPS_SSL_VERSION parameter, which specifies the SSL version used for HTTPS.

All AppDetectivePRO and DbProtect customers with maintenance (subscription or perpetual) in good standing can download the latest Knowledgebase Update 4.53 by visiting the Trustwave support portal at https://trustwave.com/Company/Support and selecting either the AppDetectivePRO or DbProtect product.

AppDetectivePRO customers can also update their deployment by launching the "Updater" within the product.
