CHICAGO AND AMSTERDAM (July 2, 2009) - TelecityGroup Netherlands has been validated compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) as a Level 1 service provider by Trustwave, the leading provider of on-demand data security and payment card industry compliance management solutions to businesses and organizations throughout the world.
PCI DSS is the payment card industry security requirement for entities that store, process or transmit cardholder data, and has been endorsed by American Express, Discover Network, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa, Inc. As a data center operator, TelecityGroup Netherlands does not process or transmit cardholder data, but their PCI DSS compliance validation does alleviate some of the requirements mandated for their customers when validating their own compliance.
To validate compliance with the PCI DSS, TelecityGroup Netherlands had to demonstrate compliance by thoroughly reviewing its physical access controls, IT environment and information security policies and procedures. TelecityGroup Netherlands has demonstrated that it meets the strict security requirements for PCI DSS, which apply to its data centre. An annual on-site evaluation forms part of this validation.
