Cyber Security Experts Highlight Unique Findings Based on Data Breaches and Penetration Tests
London (September 19, 2011) - Trustwave, a leading provider of information security and compliance solutions, today announced that Trustwave cyber security experts will speak at the MasterCard Global Risk Management Conference, in Prague, Czech Republic, September 20 through 23. The presentation will be delivered by members of Trustwave SpiderLabs, the team of ethical hackers responsible for application security, incident response and forensics, penetration testing and security research.
John Yeo, director, SpiderLabs EMEA, and Ryan Jones, managing consultant, will review Trustwave's 2011 Global Security Report. The presentation will summarise the results and analysis of more than 220 data breach investigations and more than 2,300 penetration tests conducted during the past year. The presentation will cover both technical and business impact analysis.
The presenters will focus on the "breach triad," explaining how attackers gain entry, harvest data and then exfiltrate that sensitive data during a breach. Gaining insight from these investigations, the audience will receive guidance on how to prioritise security initiatives for maximum effectiveness.
"We're honored to have been recognised by MasterCard as a leader in security and invited to speak in the company of many of the industry's key thought leaders," said Brooks Wallace, managing director, Europe, Middle East and Africa, at Trustwave. "This event helps demonstrate the importance of industry leaders working together to learn more about emerging risks and ways to mitigate threats."
"Our presentation will help attendees understand the threat landscape associated with payment card data," said Yeo. "Criminal activity surrounding card holder data is rife, therefore it's critical that organisations protect their information systems to mitigate risk and reduce the likelihood of data compromise."
