Trustwave Simplifies PCI Compliance for Small Merchants | Trustwave

PCI compliance enablement tool eases navigation of complex requirements and accelerates compliance for small businesses through an intuitive "To Do" list

CHICAGO - February 2, 2012 - Trustwave, a leading provider of information security and compliance solutions, today unveiled the latest version of its cloud-delivered TrustKeeper® PCI Manager portal that helps small merchants more easily and quickly become Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant.

TrustKeeper PCI Manager helps merchants, from local shipping stores to franchise restaurants, protect their customers from theft and fraud and avoid fines and penalties. For acquirers, the financial institutions that process merchant card payments, TrustKeeper PCI Manager offers unique insight into their customers' PCI compliance status and progress.

TrustKeeper PCI Manager illustrates actions merchants need to take to become PCI compliant on a new "To Do" List. The To Do List is tailored to the needs of the merchant's payment processing environment. It provides an ongoing task and reminder list, presenting recommendations for the merchant to address in the context of the PCI self-assessment process. TrustKeeper PCI Manager can also help merchants apply "compliance patches" through security products and services, including firewalls and SSL certificates, to remediate vulnerabilities when necessary to achieve compliance.

For example, if a merchant discovers that his business needs to destroy documents with credit card numbers in a secure manner, TrustKeeper PCI Manager adds an action item to his business's To Do List with suggestions on how to address this security gap. The merchant can then check-off or "resolve" the item once the task is completed, helping the merchant validate compliance.

"Simply put, there is nothing in the industry like the new To Do List in Trustwave TrustKeeper PCI Manager that personalizes compliance issues and provides small businesses with an action item list that allows them to meet their compliance obligations," said Doug Klotnia, Executive Vice President, Payment Services, Trustwave. "We know the majority of small businesses don't have dedicated IT professionals-they are focused on the day-to-day of running their business. This easy-to-use solution for a complex problem allows organizations to act immediately on PCI challenges and keep their acquirers in the loop on their current progress."

"With my small business, the task of understanding and complying with the PCI requirements seemed a bit overwhelming," said Dave Stanley, publisher of the New Hampton Tribune in New Hampton, Iowa. "I looked to Trustwave TrustKeeper to simplify the process for me. The ease of the TrustKeeper portal helped me with the tools I needed to become PCI DSS compliant for both my physical location and our website."

Acquirers and Franchisers

Acquirers and franchisers now have a ready-made tool that helps keep them in the loop and aids compliance programs for their customers as they implement and maintain PCI compliance.

"The newest TrustKeeper PCI Manager from Trustwave gives us peace of mind and accelerated compliance from our stakeholders, ultimately helping us to deliver a better customer experience," said Christine Scappa, Senior Vice President of Operations for Sage Payment Solutions, the payments division for Sage. "TrustKeeper speeds up time to compliance and simplifies the process along the way. The new To-Do List makes it more personal and easy to remedy PCI challenges that may arise."

The PCI DSS is the payment card industry security requirement for businesses that store, process or transmit cardholder data. The standard has been endorsed by all the major card brands, including Visa, MasterCard Worldwide, Discover Network, American Express and JCB.

Product Availability and Globalization

Delivered securely in the cloud, TrustKeeper PCI Manager is currently available on-demand globally, in 17 languages, with 24x7 multilingual email and phone support.
