Expanded Global Footprint, Robust Service Offerings and Actionable Threat Intelligence Moves Trustwave into an Industry-Recognized Leadership Role in the Fastest-Growing Security Sector
CHICAGO - July 9, 2018 - Trustwave today announced that industry analyst firm International Data Corporation (IDC) has named Trustwave a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Asia/Pacific Managed Security Services 20181.
The report assessed and compared 19 organizations that offer managed security services in the Asia Pacific region and was based on several parameters including: comprehensiveness of service offerings, portfolio benefits, delivery model, market execution, cost competitiveness, platform capabilities and customer services. Trustwave catapulted to a Leader position, up from the Major Player category the previous year, through aggressive regional expansion, a threat intelligence-led approach for delivering higher-value security services and connectivity support across the datacenter and cloud.
"Demand for managed security services continues to spike as organizations face arduous struggles to detect advanced persistent threats while contending with new malware strains and exploitable vulnerabilities each day," said Lee Chiang Toh, General Manager, APJ at Trustwave. "Our positioning in IDC's report reflects significant strides we made and continue to make in the Asia Pacific region and globally helping businesses combat threats and strengthen their security postures by providing a best-of-breed managed security services portfolio backed by some of the world's foremost security expertise."
Recent Trustwave managed security services milestones include:
- Added Global Security Firepower - Trustwave added to its network of federated Advanced Security Operation Centers (ASOCs) that collects, updates, and disseminates actionable threat intelligence in real-time to all managed security services customers. A total of ten ASOCs located throughout North America, Europe and Asia protects customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition, Trustwave added to Trustwave SpiderLabs, its elite force of security researchers, penetration testers, incident responders, and threat hunters. Serving as the backbone of Trustwave's managed security offerings, they were also responsible for discovering several new malicious threats and coding vulnerabilities.
- New Managed Security Service Offerings - Trustwave unveiled a highly advanced threat hunting service to heighten its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services. Led by Trustwave SpiderLabs, threat hunting uses behavioral analytics and proprietary threat intelligence to actively search for, isolate, and kill advance persistent threats and other hard to detect malicious activities to stop cataclysmic damage before it occurs and/or greatly lessening its impact.
- Strengthened Channel Program - To address and capture the growing demand for managed security services in the Asia Pacific region, Trustwave bolstered its global channel partner program by incorporating robust training regimens and curriculums designed to help resellers better understand industry specific and regional security challenges and articulate key advantages offered through the Trustwave model.
"All the participating companies in this study have been selected because they are strong providers, and each firm differentiates itself uniquely. Organizations should leverage the right managed security services provider to augment and optimize their security operations and, more importantly, transform their security programs to be more aligned with their business strategies," stated Cathy Huang, senior research manager, IDC Asia/Pacific Security Services.
For inclusion in the IDC MarketScape study, managed security service providers and services vendors were narrowed down based on the following criteria: service capability across a broader managed security services portfolio, in-country managed security services delivery capabilities in a minimum of two sub-Asia Pacific regions, and a total managed security services revenue of more than $20 million USD attained in Asia Pacific between 2016 and 2017.
