CHICAGO AND ARLINGTON, VA (March 24, 2010) - Solveras Payment Solutions (Solveras), a leading provider of electronic payment services for businesses, has partnered with Trustwave to implement a Level 4 compliance program to help its merchants achieve and maintain compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
The PCI DSS is the payment card industry security requirement for entities that store, process or transmit cardholder data, and has been endorsed by all the major card brands - Visa Inc., MasterCard Worldwide, Discover Network, American Express and JCB. Level 4 merchants are defined as those that process fewer than 20,000 e-commerce transactions and/or fewer than 1 million single card transactions per year.
As part of Solveras' commitment to assisting with PCI DSS compliance obligations, its merchants will have access to Trustwave's TrustKeeper® 3.0. This Web portal makes compliance validation easy and efficient for all Solveras merchants, including non-technical users. Using the dynamic PCI Wizard, merchants work through a personalized, guided interview that reduces the complex terminology of the PCI assessment into understandable terms, and uses given answers to complete the process on the merchant's behalf.
Included in TrustKeeper 3.0 is Trustwave's TrustKeeper Agent, which is downloaded and installed on the point-of-sale (POS) system to provide merchants with tools that help ensure the PCI DSS process protects and maintains a secure environment. The TrustKeeper Agent identifies a merchant's Internet-based locations automatically, forgoing the need to understand IP addresses (dynamic or otherwise) and other technical terminology. POS compliance and security features include daily identification of stored track data, file integrity management and security checks on firewall, anti-virus functionality and identify wireless access points.
As part of the compliance program for Solveras, TrustKeeper 3.0 provides online educational and compliance tools for merchants to build awareness of what's required, and teach them how to take action. Online video tutorials guide merchants through general cardholder data security, the PCI DSS and how to comply with the standard. On-demand help text, tutorials and tools such as TrustKeeper's Security Policy Advisor and Security Awareness Education ensure that merchants efficiently complete PCI DSS certification.
Compliance support services are also available for those businesses requiring additional guidance to become PCI DSS compliant.
