LONDON (1 March 2011) - Trustwave, a leading provider of information security and compliance solutions, has been honoured with the Data Security Award by the European Card Acquiring Forum (ECAF) for TrustKeeper, Trustwave's innovative security and compliance web portal.
The Data Security Award recognises the acquirer, the processor, the network services provider, the payment services provider, payment scheme, or the solution provider, who has the best performing security system, as expressed by merchant satisfaction, fraud rates or security breaches.
Trustwave's TrustKeeper is a revolutionary web portal that supports merchants' compliance efforts, including moving merchants through the complex compliance process with ease and efficiency by making the tasks achievable by non-technical users. TrustKeeper facilitates Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance validation in an easy and efficient manner for European merchants or acquirers, ISOs and processors with large merchant populations.
The PCI DSS is the payment card industry security requirement for entities that store, process or transmit cardholder data, and has been endorsed by all the major card brands - Visa, MasterCard Worldwide, Discover Network, American Express and JCB.
Trustwave offers the PCI Wizard, which simplifies the complex PCI DSS compliance process. Additionally, TrustKeeper Agent helps merchants identify if unencrypted cardholder data or track data is stored, thereby reducing the merchants' risk of card data theft. TrustKeeper also helps merchants complete required vulnerability scans and receive their PCI DSS compliance certificate. Trustwave's TrustKeeper is available in eight European languages, including English, Spanish, French, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, German, and Polish, with more coming soon.
"Smaller merchants are the least aware of their risk and the most in need of assistance in understanding and navigating the complex security requirements of the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The Trustwave solution supports a wide variety of merchant types, ranging from a small e-commerce store, a restaurant chain with multiple locations, a retailer with both physical presence and web sales, etc. The challenge was to create one-size-fits-all program for PCI DSS compliance," says Leon Dhaene, Chairman of the Guiding Hand Awards, which issued the awards on behalf of the European Card Acquiring Forum.
"Trustwave has a long history working with acquiring institutions and processors to help them and their merchants stay secure while protecting critical data," said Andy Bokor, executive director, EMEA and APAC at Trustwave. 'We're honoured to be recognised for our innovative technology, and we will continue to keep an open dialogue and provide thought leadership to the European card community."
