Cyber security, outsourcing and transactional support

Eversheds Sutherland, Konexo, Grant Thornton and Trustwave launch new cybersecurity and data privacy consortium

Eversheds Sutherland, together with Konexo, has formed a consortium with leading business, financial and cybersecurity adviser Grant Thornton UK LLP, and Trustwave, a leading cybersecurity and managed security services provider.

Working in collaboration, the unique consortium will provide global clients, predominately in regulated sectors such as Financial Services, procurement options over and above the traditional providers through a breadth of integrated digital resilience services. Each member of the consortium will bring core capabilities including legal advisory and managed services, IT assurance, digital forensics, cybersecurity advisory, and strategic and technical consulting.

The consortium combines the legal and regulatory knowledge of Eversheds Sutherland, with the cost effective and technology enabled processing of Konexo. This is strengthened by the cyber risk management and assurance pedigree of Grant Thornton, collaborating with the cyber advisory and threat detection specialisms of Trustwave.

Organisations across the world continue to face the effects of the global pandemic. Threats of cyber-attacks, ongoing regulatory changes, geopolitical risks and an uncertain global economy will keep cybersecurity, data privacy and digital resilience issues at the top of boardroom agendas.

Paula Barrett, co-lead of global cybersecurity and privacy practice, Eversheds Sutherland, commented:

“Digital resilience is not just about surviving a crisis, it is about maximising the benefits of digital enablement, while confronting and being nimble enough to rebound quickly.

“Building strong and robust digital resilience into a risk framework enables clients to better achieve their overall objectives. Through the combination of specialist and technical ability, we are uniquely positioned to assist clients throughout the entire security lifecycle.”

Brett Aubin, Head of Regulatory Response, Konexo, said:

“Reacting to the rapidly evolving digital reality against the backdrop of COVID-19, together with ongoing threats businesses face, the consortium will provide a cutting-edge proposition that, at its heart, recognises a state of digital compromise rather than absolute defence.”

Manu Sharma, Partner and Head of Cyber Security and Resilience, Financial Services Group, Grant Thornton UK LLP, added:

“Almost every aspect of an organisation’s operations is now digitally enabled and, in this environment, it is vital that businesses understand the need to build effective digital resilience. Prioritising both continuous assurance and creating a robust control framework, are critical to both mitigating risk and reducing the chance of a crisis. Ensuring strong digital resilience also provides organisations with a competitive advantage. Fast and efficient processes have become even more critical during the COVID-19 pandemic, as the move to e-commerce has been accelerated and is expected to remain.  The consortium is uniquely positioned to help organisations maximise on this opportunity and drive digital resilience through a ‘one stop shop’ of expert advice and world-class, core services.”

Derek Taylor, Consulting & Professional Services, Trustwave, commented:

“Predicated on an assumption of compromise, digital resilience is the solid foundation that can be built upon to maximise the success of digital transformation by enabling rapid threat detection and eradication. Our consortium uniquely provides the full spectrum capabilities required to deliver such digital resilience.”

Craig Rogers, Partner, Eversheds Sutherland, said:

“Our experience of working across a number of projects over the last few years (from M&A, complex outsourcing, regulatory change programs and cyber incidents) have shown the value to our clients of the combined legal, consulting and assurance offering.  This is not just about issue spotting but helping to provide practical solutions to manage evolving risks and protect the value of assets and investments.”
