Kanad Virk
Kanad Virk is founding partner of the MC2 Security Fund and a Principal and Head of Private Equity at The Chertoff Group, a premier global advisory firm that focuses exclusively on the security sector. A private equity investor for over 15 years, Kanad has been involved in a number of key investments in the cybersecurity sector, including Coalfire, Delta Risk and Virtru.
Prior to joining The Chertoff Group, Kanad was a Managing Director in the Private Equity team at Standard Chartered Bank, where he made growth capital investments in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He served as a board member of several public companies and was responsible, personally or jointly, for the structuring, diligence, approval, execution, management and divestment of over $1bn of investments. Before joining Standard Chartered, Kanad spent a decade at Goldman Sachs, where he worked in Mergers & Acquisitions and later served as the COO of Goldman Sachs’s Private Wealth Management Division, first in Asia (including Japan) and then of its Europe/Middle East/Africa business. Mr. Virk started his career as a corporate lawyer specializing in mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and Skadden Arps.
Mr. Virk graduated with a B.A. degree from Pomona College, with a double major in Mathematical Economics and History. He subsequently earned a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
