Jason Kaufman
Jason Kaufman is a founding partner at the MC2 Security Fund and President of The Chertoff Group, where he leads the firm’s M&A practice. He has participated in the firm’s private equity investments from inception, including Coalfire, Delta Risk, and DMI. His distinguished investing and investment banking career spans nearly 25 years, during which time he has emerged as a leading advisor supporting world-class companies, entrepreneurs, and private equity investors in the national security community.
Jason has successfully completed more than 100 transactions worth north of $8 billion in deal value in a wide array of industries, including cybersecurity, government services, defense technology, homeland security, and other emerging technologies. He also leverages his deep knowledge of national security topics to provide strategic advice to the firm’s clients and to MC2’s portfolio companies, delivering his unique perspective at the intersection of finance and industry strategy.
Prior to joining The Chertoff Group, Jason served for seven years as an investment banker with BB&T Capital Markets | Windsor Group and three years at Jefferies Quarterdeck. He was also an associate with ECentury Capital, an early-stage venture capital fund sponsored by Rothschild, Hitachi, and Mitsubishi.
Jason holds a B.S.F.S from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and received his M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
